The Governor has tested positive for Covid, so Deputy Governor Tom Oppenheim will attend the Legislative Assembly summons and read the Speech from the Throne this Friday.
A spokesperson said: “Government House can advise that His Excellency the Governor has tested positive for Covid-19. The governor will continue to work remotely but will not attend any in-person events or meetings until she receives a negative test result.
“Under Section 19A of the Constitution, the Governor authorized the Deputy Governor, Mr. Tom Oppenheim, to attend the convocation of the Legislative Assembly scheduled for Friday, November 4, 2022 and to read the Speech from the Throne in her name.”
