OTTAWA (ON), March 30, 2022 /CNW/ – Their Excellencies the Right Honorable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canadaand M. Whit Fraser will pay an official visit to Ontario from March 31 to April 1, 2022.

During this visit, Their Excellencies will meet with the Honorable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontariothe Honorable Doug Ford, Premier of Ontarioand His Worship John Tory, Mayor of City of Toronto. Their Excellencies will also meet with Indigenous leaders, visit the Kapapamahchakwew – Wandering Spirit School and meet with members of the Ukrainian community during this visit.

Their Excellencies will arrive at the Legislative Building in Queen’s Park and be greeted by the Honorable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontariothe Honorable Doug Ford, Premier of Ontario, and the Honorable Ted Arnott, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. His Excellency will inspect a guard of honor as a 21-gun salute is fired from Wellesley Street West.

Their Excellencies will visit Kapapamahchakwew – Wandering Spirit School, which offers Indigenous students the opportunity to learn more about Anishinaabe cultural traditions in a stimulating and caring environment, and enables them to be future leaders with a strong cultural identity. . Their Excellencies will meet with students and professors.

Visit to the Ukrainian National Federation of CanadaToronto chapter
Their Excellencies will visit the Ukrainian National Federation of Canada. They will meet members of from Toronto Ukrainian community, and visit a charity exhibition of original works of art organized by the Ukrainian Association of Visual Artists of Canada / USOM in collaboration with the Ukrainian Canadian artistic foundation / UCAF. They will also sample traditional Ukrainian cuisine and meet community volunteers who send humanitarian supplies to Ukraine.
