OTTAWA (ON), February 20, 2022 /CNW/ – As the 2022 Winter Olympics draw to a close, Whit and I would like to congratulate all of the athletes for an outstanding performance. We would also like to express our gratitude to the coaches, trainers, volunteers, family, friends and everyone else who supported these talented Canadians.
No matter the outcome, Canada was thrilled to once again cheer on our Olympians as you go for gold, silver and bronze. The path to becoming an Olympian is not easy. The obstacles included grueling physical labor and mental toughness, constantly pushing you to be the best. And, of course, there’s the ongoing pandemic, which has forced the Olympics to adapt and change. Through it all, you displayed the spirit of ajuinnata, an Inuktitut expression that means, among other things, never give up!
While we couldn’t be there to cheer you on in person, we were there in spirit, alongside family and friends back home, and so many other Canadians from coast to coast.
Every match, every competition, every event was a chance to face the best in the world. And you certainly showed from Canada to resolve. We are proud of all you have done, for representing Canada with great honor and respect, and for your displays of excellence.
Go Team Canada!
