Uyo, Akwa Ibom- Aminu Tambuwal, Governor of Sokoto State and Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council, said the party was better than the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Is the PDP fair?

The DPP Governor said the party reflected on the principle of fairness in its presidential ticket, adding that the APC ticket did not reflect the true federal character of Nigeria.

The governor argued that the ruling party had sown a seed of discord in the country and that the PDP would avoid such cases.

The NGF chairman made the statement during the kickoff of the apex party’s presidential campaign in Uyo, capital of Akwa Ibom, on Monday, October 10.

Which presidential ticket is the most balanced in 2023?

According to Tambuwal, the PDP has a balanced Atiku/Okowa presidential ticket, which recognizes Nigeria’s plurality and capability.

His statement reads in part:

“Our party is on a mission to save Nigeria and restore its value, and I believe the other party their candidacy is not only against the federal character but against the constitution of Nigeria because it does not reflect the character Federal of Nigeria.

The larger opposition, which is believed to have relied on President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration’s weakness in security and inflation, decided to field a northern candidate against the nationalist vision.

The party had claimed that the south enjoyed more power than the north during its 16 years of rule, but nationalistically, many southerners believed that power should not remain in the north after 8 years of Buhari.
