The provocative utterance reportedly angered the senator, forcing him to speak out against visitors who came to his home to threaten him with death, even as the outcome of the visit reportedly split the APC in Edo North.

But in a bid to restore peace and normalcy to the region, Senator Alimikhena called on various groups to remain peaceful.

In a press statement issued yesterday by his media assistant, Benjamin Atu, the Edo North senator described violence as the weapon of the weak, saying only a united party can win the election. “United, there is nothing we cannot achieve,” he stressed.

He therefore appealed to all his supporters and APC leaders to remain calm and peaceful despite the provocative statement of the said visitors.

“I want you all to let peace reign. We must not forget the damage caused by reckless talk during the Edo 2020 elections that made APC an opposition party in the state.
